Career-Development Counseling. This type of work is recommended when you are in the early stages of the career-development process or are in career transition. Questions such as Who Am I? What do I Want? Why am I dissatisfied at work? and What do I want to do next? take precedence. This is the time when the most self-reflection is required in order to clarify your work identity, which will serve as a foundation upon which to build your career.
We will begin with a thorough self-assessment process comprised of discussions, career testing and exercises as well as a three-generational work-focused family history in order to discover your unique career DNA: your motivational pattern, talents, abilities, motivated skills, work style and work personality. We’ll also identify the types of work environments that are best suited to your nature and the obstacles that are blocking you from achieving the career you want.
You’ll learn to articulate your guiding principles and work-related values so that you can formulate your goals from within, be clear about the future you want and develop a plan to get there.
Finally, we’ll define the next steps and work choices that best capture your authentic nature and are appropriate to your current stage of life.
Stages of the career-development process are not age-specific, and you will often need to return to these early questions throughout your career.
